Introduction

Otterly tracks how often ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot mention and cite your brand, from $29 a month, with Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude as paid add-ons. It's built around brands and prompts, so it suits a marketing team that wants to watch AI answers. ecentic works on the products in a Shopify or WooCommerce store: it has ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini compare each one with a competitor you name, shows why the agent picked the other one, and writes the fix.

So the honest answer to "which one" is a question back: do you want a report on how AI talks about your brand, or a list of the products that are losing sales and what to change on each? Those are different jobs, and a lot of teams end up paying for the first when they wanted the second.

Fair caveat: I run ecentic. Everything about Otterly below comes from its own pricing and feature pages, and I tried to say what it's good at.

Last reviewed: 23 October 2026. Prices are monthly, in US dollars, from each company's own pricing page that day.

What Otterly does

What Otterly does

You give Otterly a set of prompts, the questions your buyers ask, and it runs them every day on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot [1]. The brand report shows how often you're mentioned, in what position, with what sentiment, next to which competitors, and which sites the answers cite.

Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts and Standard is $189 for 100. Premium is $489 for 400, and Enterprise starts at 1,000 prompts on a custom contract. Paying yearly takes 15% off, and there's a free trial. Gemini and Google AI Mode are $9 a month each on Lite and Claude is $29, so a Lite account that wants Gemini and Claude costs $67 [1].

Otterly does more than watch, and I want to be fair about that. Its optimization side audits your pages the way AI crawlers see them, fetches a URL as OAI-SearchBot or GoogleBot to compare the raw HTML with the rendered page, and gives your team a ranked list of on-page and off-page fixes [2]. Lite gets three recommendations a week, and Standard and up get them without a limit. From Standard, Agent Analytics also shows which AI crawlers fetch your pages and which visitors AI answers send you, through an integration at your server or CDN [3].

It fits a marketing team, an SEO lead or an agency that reports on AI search across brands and markets. Otterly covers 65 countries and languages, and that breadth is hard to match.

What ecentic does

What ecentic does

ecentic starts from your catalog instead of from prompts. We have ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini compare your products with the competitors you name and pick one. Your Win Rate Report shows how often each product wins, and when it loses, which detail cost it the sale: a missing size, a vague title, a price the agent couldn't read.

Then we write the fix: the title, the description and the structured data agents read. On pay-as-you-go, Scale and Dominate it goes into Shopify or WooCommerce when you click Apply, and nothing in the store changes before that. Compete gives you the same fixes field by field, to apply yourself. On Shopify we also track the visits AI assistants send you, week over week.

How do I track how often ChatGPT and Gemini mention my products?

How do I track how often ChatGPT and Gemini mention my products?

This is the question that sends a lot of store owners to Otterly, so it's worth answering plainly. There are three ways to do it, and they measure different things.

The prompt way is Otterly's. You write prompts like "best trail running shoes under $150" and see whether your brand comes up. It's cheap to start, but each product you care about costs prompts, and on Lite, Gemini is an add-on. Fifteen prompts cover a handful of products, not a catalog.

The catalog way is Peec AI's AI Shopping Analytics, which reads your store's product feed and gives every product its own row with visibility, position and the price the assistant quotes [5]. Starter is $95 a month for 50 prompts on three models [6]. I compared Peec with the other options in Peec AI alternatives.

The head-to-head way is ours. Instead of counting mentions, ecentic asks which product the agent picks when it compares yours with a named competitor's, and why. I think that's the number that maps closest to a sale. An answer names a few products, and nobody scrolls to page two of a chat.

When Otterly is the better pick

When Otterly is the better pick

Pick Otterly if your job is reporting on the brand. It fits if you need many markets and languages, citation and sentiment tracking, a Looker Studio report for a client, or API and MCP access to pull the data into your own tools. It also suits a company that doesn't sell through a product catalog at all. An agency running AI search for ten brands will get more out of it than out of us.

When ecentic is the better pick

When ecentic is the better pick

Pick ecentic if you run a Shopify or WooCommerce store and the question is which products lose and what to change. The free scan has the three assistants compare your top 10 products once, with no card, and setup takes about two minutes. After that, pay-as-you-go costs $0 until an agent drives a sale, then 3% of orders that follow a visit from an AI assistant in the previous 7 days, capped at $500 a month [4]. Compete is $14.90 a month for up to 100 products, Scale is $44.90 for up to 1,000 with one-click publishing, and Dominate is $149 with Google Merchant Center sync on Shopify and agent checkout setup.

The trade-offs are real. We only support Shopify, WooCommerce and product feeds. We don't do sentiment, citation tracking or prompt research. And we're a newer company with one published pilot result: DUA Flavours (pilot, published with permission), where visits from AI assistants and direct traffic rose 12% between April and July 2026 [7]. That's visits, not sales, and it's one store.

07

Can you use both?

Can you use both?

Yes, and some teams should. Otterly tells the marketing team whether the brand shows up and which sources the answers trust, which is useful for PR and content. ecentic tells the e-commerce team which product pages to fix this week. If you can only pay for one, I'd pick by who will act on it. A brand report nobody acts on is still a monthly invoice.

If you want to see which of your products agents skip and why, run the free scan, or compare the plans on the pricing page. For the wider field, our guide to AI shopping agent optimization tools groups every tool by the job it does.

FAQ

FAQ

Does Otterly work with Shopify?

Otterly doesn't need your store. It runs prompts on AI engines and audits public URLs, so it works for any website. I couldn't find a Shopify or WooCommerce integration on its pricing or feature pages, which means changes it recommends are made by your team in your store.

Is Otterly cheaper than ecentic?

It depends on what you count. Otterly Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts, and ecentic's Compete plan is $14.90 a month for up to 100 products. On pay-as-you-go, ecentic costs nothing until an AI assistant sends an order. The two plans don't buy the same thing, so compare them on the job you need done.

Which AI engines does ecentic check?

ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Otterly covers more engines, including Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews, with Gemini, AI Mode and Claude as add-ons.

Does ecentic change my store without asking?

No. ecentic writes the fix, and on the plans with one-click publishing it goes live in your store only when you click Apply. On Compete you get the fixes as suggestions to apply yourself.
